- Make out cardboard peace signs and color them in with paints, spray paints, or anything

- Colorful beaded necklaces or braclets or chains dangling by the door entrance [plastic] , can buy kits of beads pretty cheap at craft stores

- Writing out/ typing out large PEACE, LOVE, and other hippy-ish words in colorful letters.

- Maybe tie dye the bedsheets to a rainbow color, looks nice

- Lava lamps! And kaleidoscopes if you have any,..

- Smiley faces! I’m really not sure if thats hippy-ish but they smile don’t they ? =)

Have them string beads , and make curtains out of them. You can have them take strips of fabric, and braid them, When They have enough, you join them together and then start rolling them and sewing as you go along, in a circular design, when you finish you have a lovely rug. You can also put beads on the lamp shade. They can make pillows for the bed, in fake fur.

tye- dyed curtains, lava lamp, a guitar, beaded curtains for the door and closet door, shag rug, a wall in the room where your kid and their friends could dip a hand in paint and put their print on the wall, and they can write their name and a mini message on it when it dries, you might want to cover the hand wall with heavy cardboard or something, they can save it for later if you move.

Lots of tie-dyed fabrics. (Look up "tie-dying" on the internet or get a kit/book from your local craft store). Natural objects, wood, rocks, crystals hanging in the window. Big flowers cut from craft paper in bright colours (think mamas and the papas). Giant flowers made from tissue paper and wire. Bubble writing from the seventies with phrases or words like "groovy" "radical" or "totally far out maaaan". Pull up the carpet and paint the floorboards in colorful stripes. Natural fabrics, hemp, cotton, with home-made printing/stamping. Fringes, trims, tassles, anything feathery, swirly or organic looking. Random layout with lots of overlapping.

Definitely no black, monochromatic schemes, matchy-matchy, animal prints, neatness or too much pastel.

Have fun, I’d love to do a room like that!
