How can I make inexpensive Xmas decorations for my home?

If you want to go like totally homemade try the old fashion stringing popcorn on string. and cutting out snowflakes with paper and hanging them up!

But you can also go to overstock stores such as Biglots, Dollar store and find some really cute great deals!! And you can get just as cute stuff there as you would at an expensive store for like the 4th of the price!!

for me,i buy decorations after the christmas and so i will put them to a box to keep them safe…bcuz of that i really saved money bcuz of the economic increased…do u understand????i hope u u should understand cus i believe that words cant explain whats on our minds…….ty..

Get pieces of plain white paper.Fold it corner to corner,making smaller and smaller triangles everytime.Slowly snip in various patterns/designs…unfold and glue along the paper thats still intact.Next,use various colors of glitter(i like using silver or white glitter) and shake off the excess.Place the excess aside for use with the others.Use a small whole punch and lace yarn through the whole and tie them.Hang them along your wall,ceiling and other various places throughout your home.
Get a bowl,which you can see through.Fill it with Christmas M&M’s and cover.This will include not only a nice little decoration,but a snack or two.
Make Jello Jigglers in Red and Green and in Christmas shapes.
Get some yarn(Yarn can be used for many projects,so invest once and it can be used many times.) lace red and green fruitloops onto the yarn and hang along the walls.
Make up a kids’ dough recipe(http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/Acres/7875/recip3.html), cut out shapes with cookie cutters, pierce a hole in the top and bake, then paint.They arent edible!
Make up a kids play dough recipe(at the link included in the option above).Leave one regular color,dye one with red food coloring.Cut into round strips.Take one red strip and one white,twist and bake.Candy canes!
Use construction paper(Red,white,green,or any color you choose),tape ends,and loop with the other continuing each time.This will make a chain!
Sit Christmas cards you have recieved out on available tabletops.The possiblities are endless!!!!!!!Happy Holidays,sweetie!

P.S. Here is another recipe for the dough ornaments:
1 1/2 c. salt
1 3/4 c. warm water
4 c. flour

Dissolve salt in water, add flour. Knead 2 minutes. Form ornaments & Brush with egg. Bake in 350 oven for 45 to 60 minutes. Allow to cool 15 minutes, then paint with acrylic paints and spray with liquid plastic to seal.

I made small mouse bodies from the dough, added a small head and ears. Bake together. Take a half walnut shell, line with cotton batting. After the mouse is painted and sealed, place him on the batting so the head and ears rest on the edge of the shell. Cut a small piece of fabric to cover most of the edge and the mouse, hot glue in place. Use twine or fishing line at each edge of the shell to suspend it.

You can use cookie cutters, anything at all to form the ornaments. If needed remember to use a straw to poke a hole near the top before baking to pass a ribbon through for hanging!
