You need import export license as well as Import export code, PIN number and TIN number & foreign currency account.
other wise you may ask your supplier in china if they are sending similar products to any Indian company, you may talk to that company to import the goods on their EXIM code initially, they may charge you for that. Later you may process your own License.
When your License is ready, it is not enough. you need to register your company name with the port where the goods will arrive. Suppose you register your company in Mumbai Port, you can not release the goods in Chennai, your company need separate registration.

That depends on the quantity. if it is just a few you dont need a license.
