The Nucleur family is now a minority. Most families are divorced, remarried, or single mom’d or dad’d.
Schools increasingly are more liberal and promote tolerance. As soon as we get rid of all the baby boomers, We’ll probably get gay marriage. We learn different things in school.
The Media is increasingly more P.C. and sensationalized. It teaches us to worship our hollywood idols and encourage american consumerism. These are growing trends.
Again, rights for gays and lesbians, as well as women and people of colors will continue to advance in the modern world.
I also think Americans will abandon the death penalty in the next 30 years. Unless unprecident events take place.
I think the only thing that changes things is the old people dying off. Oldies tend to dislike change very much. They get very loud when they are upset as well. Writing letters and making phone calls. As they die off the rest of us are left a little more free to do our thing. Of course every generation ushers in new oldies with all new problems. What can we do? Just keep filling them up with pills I guess.
What we experience as being recent changes in the cultural matrix of America are simply the continued germination of the ideological construct that underlies American culture itself– radical individualism.
