How do I get my family to cope with my cats death?

Under Family Category: Family Parenting

She only had kittens as well as it was the unequivocally remarkable death, substantially ate something she shouldn’t have, as well as she upheld away. Now, my family, my beloved as well as my mom, maily, since they were the ones to see her pass, have been in the "state of shock". What do we do to have them feel improved about it? She was the good cat as well as we do not wish to have it worse.

Give everyone a chance to mourn. Talking about her may help: telling stories about all the funny things she did, what she meant to you, your special memories. Tears are okay. Don’t feel like you can’t grieve because she was "just a cat". She was an important, irreplaceable part of your family. Honor her memory and never forget her.

Don’t do anything. We all deal with death a little different, just let it go. They will each deal with it on there own terms.

The sudden and inexplicable death of a beloved pet is very hard to deal with.

I saw a wonderful quote yesterday: "No amount of time can erase the memory of a good cat, and no amount of masking tape can totally remove his fur from your couch" Leo Dworken.

A little humor and dwelling on fond memories is the way to go.

Bring the cat to a taxidermist & have it mounted so it can be with the family for ever. Or maybe bring the pelt to a furrier and have some nice gloves lined with the cats fur. Give everybody in the family a pair as a gift. If you run short on having enough pelt for all the gloves find one of those kittens that match her color the closest.

It’s a fact, and you may take a little while to digest it. Let time heal, and it’s the way this will work.

Let the force be with you.

You could remind then just how precious HUMAN LIFE is and that they’ve been very blessed that their own family is alive and healthy.

Time heals all wounds. Perhaps getting a new cat or some other pet would help.

They have to deal with your precious cat’s death in their own way. I am so sorry to hear your kitty passed away though.

If you can, have her cremated and that way everyone can pet the box or something and cry and after awhile they will cry less and be glad that she is with them.

I’m sorry to hear that. too bad you didn’t get your cat spayed before she got pregnant and then you wouldn’t have to be going through this.
