Perrylicious!
Those vocals NEVER cease to amaze me every time I hear this song. “THE VOICE” is soo powerful but calming.
Steve Perry, I soo looking forward to your solo CD…
JOURNEY~STEVE PERRY ON!
This is my favorite on the Escape album. This was Steve Perry’s best vocal on any Journey tune. Steve Smith’s drumming here was phenomenal. His playing here just kicks serious ass here. I refuse to see Journey without the two Steves. Well, at least I have Captured, Live in Houston 1981 and Greatest Hits Live if I want to hear and/or see prime Journey live and not the cover band that they became now with an imposter.
What a voice What a voice. Tops any of that rap shit.
I did see a youtube of Dean do this song and it wasn’t bad at all. HOWEVER, I will die a Perry fan.
True but it was a different drummer years later, Dean Castronovo. He actually did a good job with it too.
soo much emotion in this
I was at this tour but at the Ventura fair grounds in Califormia! Billy squire opened up the concert, and It was festival seating and my friend and I got right up front! I really didn’t know much about Journey at the time but once Steve opened up those angelic pipes of his I was sold! It was if there was another instrument up on stage! I remember to this day walking out of there in utter amazement at what I just witnessed by Steve and that whole tight band and that day Journey became a favorite
This is such a powerful song. “THE VOICE” sings masterfully… What talent…
Journey~Steve Perry on!
…………….
I believe that he meant that he’s the brother (seventh son).
GODLY
I always wondered why Steve Perry calls this song Mother, Father, Sister, Brother when introducing the song. Brother is not in this song at all.
He WAS Great….now …ahhhhhh nope
BEAUTIFUL! Simple, NO one can sing Journey~Steve Perry songs like the original himself. Flawless Live or recorded! Can’t say that about too many musicians today.
Steve Perry has a vocal range the imitators can’t touch!
The collaboration of these musicians in this video is awesome. Miss Gregg Rollie but JC was a really good replacement hand picked by Rollie…
Journey~Steve Perry ON!
best band ever, best guitarist ever, PERIOD
I think Steve Perry is amazing and the drummer live on the revoultion cd WAS FREAKING AWESOME. Too bad he says that he doesnt want to sing it because hes just a drummer. Go figure.
@MICKJAC08 …Neal’s dad helped to write it too along with the other guys…
Its listed on the credits….
SP said it was the hardest song for him to sing but loved it too….
simply: mega f*cking great!!!!
i swear the drummer sang this…
whatta voice
This was Neal’s fav. song on the album, and I do not blame him one bit.Simply amazing!!
No matter what has happened,Steve’s angelic voice and Neals magical playing were a match made by the Gods !!!!!
This Live version is awesome! Singing in that upper register is very difficult, especially on the road, night after night., and not losing your voice. From the songs I’ve heard, Arnel does a great job singing them. but will he have that range when he’s Steve’s age? heck.. i seen a lot of singers not be able to pull off the songs they did in their 20′s, years later. Even the master, Pavarotti had a tough time in his later years.. Dont stop believin!
Peace & Prosperity to those who seek it..
exactly neal is great on guitar
i have it it is awesome one CD is the concert and the other is bonus material
rare stuff my friend
steve perry has a awesome voice
