I would hope that your family, being the closest people to you, would fully understand that you aren’t in any financial position to be buying anyone Christmas gifts. Besides, once you miss the boat of Christmas day, anything that comes after that is really pointless. If you hadn’t thought of all this before Christmas, what is the point? It’s not like Christmas just snuck up on you and you didn’t know it was coming.
If I were in your shoes, I would go to the craft store with what little money I had, and buy stuff to make. They have lots of ideas in these craft stores. My little kids and I made Valentines a couple of years ago that hang from a lamp (or whatever) with a special message inside for the person we made them for. They are meant to be hung up all year round and are a reminder that we think about these people all the time. Home made gifts are truly gifts from the heart.
You’re really sweet wanting to make your sisters feel better after the accident, but really, some little token from your heart will be much more meaningful than something off a shelf at a store.
