2. Insist he picks the children up from school twice a month.

3. Make at least one mealtime each week an unbreakable family date.

4. Ban work meetings before 8.30am and after 5pm.

5. Put him down for canteen duty or another school activity once a term.

6. If he can’t get away, tell him to bring work home and finish it in the evening when the kids are in bed.

7. Guide him towards books about how to be a good father.

8. Share the chores with your partner to give him time with the children.

9. Encourage him to talk to his boss about how happy employees with a balanced life make the best workers.

10. If his company is flexible in allowing him find a new job with a firm that does understand the importance of family life.
