Under Family Category: Hobby and Leisure
My beloved is starting to be divided in bootcamp, as well as afterwards serve precision for utterly the couple of months as well as I’m seeking for the fun approach to outlay the time during home alone. I’m unequivocally in to creation things which we can use, similar to sewing garments or baking, though we wish something which can entertain me for longer than the couple of days. Can excercise be deliberate the hobby?
Does any one have any suggestions for me? They would be severely appreciated.

Why not try scrapbooking? I think that could possibly keep you amused while he is away and it would be a great way to show him how you missed him, what you were doing, how your mutual friends were doing. You could incorporate his letters and pictures into it as well…He would probably really appreciate a home time record of his time away.

exercising is great because it serves multiple purposes. (keeping you busy, fit, feeling good about yourself) you could take cooking classes. Scrapbooking wont take you months but it can take up a few weeks if you get really into it, and i enjoy it.
Painting. Ceramics is also alot of fun and you can go in as much as you want. Also, try writing.
Have you tried to Crochet? You can make tons of cute tops, shawls, throws and such. T
crocheting a quilt taks up time and is fun so u can crochet a bunch of squares and then put them together its really fun and time flies by
if you like doing things with your hands do something challenging. Try to embroider a small hankie, with an easy design.
Then go to a more challenging design on say a tea towel…. so you will be able to make fancy pillow cases.
I can’t embroider, but I have learned enough to know that can keep you occupied a lot.
Have you tried knitting? It’s easy to learn and you can make sweaters or socks for your boyfriend while he’s away. There’s plenty of free patterns on the net, so you’ll never get bored. You can knit while watching TV or while sitting on a bus/train going to work. Also, it’s not a very expensive hobby. See the tutorial videos on YouTube.
I just took up crocheting, and I love it! One of my good friends taught me the basic single and double crochet stitches and once you get the hang of it it’s super easy. I just learned thursday night and I already made a scarf for my daughter! So you could learn and then maybe even make some money from it, home made scarfs and blankets can make you some pretty decent money at craft fairs! Good luck!
I know the feeling, my BF was away last year in Iraq for 6 months and now currently in Iraq once again for 9 months. I suggest keep yourself busy with things of your interest. As for me I like to write so I write poetry, go to the movies, work, shopping, go to the gym, hang out with friends, pretty much anything and everything you can do in your area and I guarantee the time will pass quickly. Ive been there and going through it a second time and his last deployment went a bit slow because I allowed myself to think about the time, but this time is passing so quickly because I am keeping myself occupied.
A fun, easy, and time consuming hobby is to buy broken glass at a store, and make sure it’s stained and will not cut you, and if it is sharp, you might need a kiln to melt away the edges. Get a crusher or a glass cutter so that if the glass isn’t the right shape you can shape it. then either make (which you’d need to do perfectly) or buy (which i reccomend) a birdhouse. Now, I know birdhouses are a little boring but just keep reading. Now, take some clear-drying glue and start attaching the peices of glass to the birdhouse like a jigsaw puzzle, or have some dangleof the sides. If you pick the right combinations of stained glass and organize the glass on the birdhouse to make beautiful creations. It’s time-consuming, but very fun and you can even sell them for high prices on ebay! i would do this with my grandmother and it was incredibly fun! Here is an example

it doesn’t have to be a birdhouse either! Just be creative!
If that doesnt fit your interest, try making clay sculptures.
Clay sculptures are my favorite because you can mold the clay anyway you want to make it unique. First, find a picture of something you like, or come up with an idea that could blow your husband away when he comes back (try maybe something romantic like hearts or fake clay candles to go with a romantic dinner) buy a lot of clay, and make sure they have the right colors for your design. Don’t forget to buy glaze and some paste if peices fall of in the oven. Buy the clay that says they can be heated and hardened. Now, here comes the fun part. Mold your clay into the design you want which can take time to make it perfect. now lather some glaze, but not a lot, on the sculpture and put it in the oven at the temperature stated in the package. Set a timer and wait, take it out, and voila! A replica of the picture or thought in your mind!
Hope i helped, Have fun!

Beading is pretty easy to get into, and can fill many hours. Do simple designs or complicated ones, as you like.
Offering to walk a neighbor’s dog is often a good idea.
Volunteer at a local animal shelter.
Volunteer at a local home for the elderly. They always need people to talk or listen or read to the folks, as the paid staff doesn’t have time to just sit with people and make them feel special. My mom was in a care facility in another state for awhile, and it made me feel much better to know that a local younger person was visiting her regularly when I couldn’t be there to do it myself.
If you start kntting or crocheting now, you’ll be able to make Christmas presents for family and friends this year. Both are easy to start and hard to put down!

have you tried counted cross stitch, its one of the easiest hobbies i have ever done, i got into it when i was pregnant, years ago, it is relaxing, time consuming and yields wonderful results. if you can count you can cross stitch it’s that easy.
you can try needlepoint, cross stitch, crochet these are all very easy to learn also if you go to the craft store you can look at latch hook kits those are beautiful and easy. with those you can make wall hanging for your house or make small rugs
also many craft stores offer classes in case you want to learn without the hassle of trying to do it yourself
Try coin collecting. It doesn’t have to cost you a lot. You can go to the bank and pick of a box of coin (whichever denomination you like) for exactly face value. A box of pennies is $25, a box of nickels is $100, a box of dimes is $250 and boxes of half dollars or quarters are $500. The bank can pull out just $100 for you and you wouldn’t have to buy all $500 if you didn’t want to.
Once you get a box, you can go through and pull out the better coins (there are books to help with this or websites). You can pick up a coin book and try to fill all the holes or just search for interesting ones.
The coins that you don’t want can be returned to the bank and put straight back into your account (though it’s often better to return the coins to a different bank (not just a different branch but a different bank) so that you don’t search the same boxes over and over). So you get most of your money back and you could then get another box.
Also check your change for interesting finds.
Some things to search for: wheat pennies, silver dimes, silver quarters, old coins, error coins, etc. There’s always the chance that you could find a real treasure!
