Try making mosaics. I’m new to it and started about 2 weeks ago (1 hour a week for mosaic-ing) and I’m already in the middle of my first mosaic.

Counted cross stitch is creative when you purchase a kit they have everything you need except sharp scissors and an embroidery hoop.

I like making beaded jewelry. It’s pretty cheap to get started, it’s pretty easy, and the finished product, after you hone your skills a bit, can actually make you a bit of extra cash!
